Vishu Gurung,Kathmandu: The death toll from a powerful earthquake that struck Tibet, China, on Tuesday morning has risen to 53.
According to Chinese media outlet CGTN, the earthquake measured 6.8 magnitude and caused significant destruction, resulting in the deaths of 53 individuals so far.
As per CGTN, more than a thousand houses have been damaged. BBC has reported that 63 people have been injured.
Nepal’s National Seismological Center stated that the tremor measured 7 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was reported to be around Dinggy in Tibet, and the quake struck at 6:50 AM (Nepali time).
The tremors were also felt as far as Kathmandu.
