Sydney, Australia – To strengthen the representation of the Nepalese Christian community in Australia, the Nepalese Christian Society Australia (NCSA) has been officially formed. The group, previously known as Sydney Nepalese Christian Community (SNCC), has been renamed, and the newly formed organization will now proceed with the official registration process.

In a meeting held on Sunday at United Nepalese Christian Church in Liverpool, the organization decided on the name change and elected an 11-member executive committee. Vijay Kumar Shrestha has been appointed as the president, while Rudra Paudel and Pastor Anish Rimal have been nominated as vice presidents. Tej Prajapati has taken on the role of general secretary, Pastor Kedar (Jeevan) Rayamajhi as secretary, Logan Kunwar as treasurer, and Ezekiel Lama as vice treasurer. Other committee members include Pastor Anil Shrestha, Binay Kumar Sinchuri, and Santosh Nepali, with Bishnu Khatri serving as an advisor.

The organization aims to work for the rights and welfare of Nepalese and Nepalese Christians in Australia. President Shrestha stated that the organization will not represent any specific denomination or interfere in the internal affairs of any church. He also mentioned plans to collaborate with other organizations with similar objectives, such as INFA, to better organize and support the community.

The next meeting to discuss the organization’s future strategies and action plans is scheduled for March 9, 2025, at Sydney Nepalese Church in Auburn.
